Over 40 world famous artists from Africa, Latin America, The Middle East and Asia will occupy Denmark with arts and performance at one of Scandinavia’s largest contemporary international arts and culture festivals, the IMAGES Festival. The passionate organisers believe that “arts and creativity create development and challenge our images of the developing world” and the festival, held in Copenhagen, Aarhus and Aalborg, will shine a light on the power of diversity to create a better future.
The Egyptian painter Alaa Awad, makes a large mural in acrylic paint on the Queen Louise’s Bridge. He is a calligraphic master and painter in a traditional Egyptian language known from the ancient pyramids. However, he presents contemporary stories from the time of the Egyptian liberation struggle.
