On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the Suez Canal, the French – Egyptian Institute offers many different artistic events in Luxor and Paris. Alaa Awad will be exhibiting Egypt at the Egyptian Cultural Center in Paris during the Cultural Year of France from March 22 to 30 (111 Boulevard Saint-Michel – 75005).

“Alaa Awad, voici un nouveau talent que nous propose l’Égypte, et non des moindres. Ce jeune artiste, qui a grandi à Mansoura et qui enseigne à la Faculté des Beaux-Arts de Louqsor, a été imprégné depuis son enfance par le prestigieux patrimoine légué par la civilisation pharaonique. C’est d’elle qu’il va tirer toute son inspiration, en faisant évoluer son art où se mêlent une grande finesse et une extraordinaire sensibilité”. Peut-on rêver d’une plus belle présentation, que celle de cet autre “thébain”, Christian Leblanc ?

Alaa a exprimé son street art de façon magistrale et grandiose en Egypte, aux USA, en Allemagne, ou encore au Danemark. …
