Camel Market 2025 – Mural in Luxor, West Bank, Malakka

The mural Camel Market 2025 depicts a detailed scene of a traditional camel market in Upper Egypt. Spanning approximately 3.5 meters in height and 17 meters in width, it presents a vivid portrayal of daily life: traders guiding camels through the market, animals resting in the shade, and people engaged in their everyday activities. The carefully composed scene conveys an authentic impression of the rhythmic bustle of a historic trading site in the desert region.

The creation of the artwork required about five weeks of work. Its realistic painting technique, natural color palette, and precise use of light and depth give the scene a three-dimensional, lifelike appearance. The mural marks the beginning of the planned series “Desert Chronicles – Stories from Upper Egypt in Mural Form”, which will continue to offer artistic insights into the cultural and daily life of the region.

„From the timeless sands of Daraw rises a tale as old as the desert winds. In Kom Ombo’s famed Camel Market—where caravans journey from the plains of Sudan—echoes the spirit of ancient travelers, merchants, and guardians of the dunes. This mural is born from that mythic crossing, where camels move like shadows stretching across centuries. In their footsteps, the market becomes a living legend: a realm where stories are traded as fiercely as goods, and where dust, commerce, and heritage collide in a theater of sound and motion, carrying the weight of stories older than memory, painted where tradition refuses to fade.“
